CODE was initiated and created by Nascent for Calligaris. It is a project where young and up and coming designers were selected to create a new collection. CODE stands for Complements Design, a group of products inspired by the “Smart Attitude” philosophy of Calligaris.
We created the concept and strategy for CODE, guiding Calligaris in its selection of designers, such as Matteo Cibic, and designed the entire visual identity for the collection including logo, communications materials and web presence.

The key concept for CODE was the combination of 90 years heritage, fused with a new fresh collection interpreted by young ambitious designers. When creating the logo we were inspired by the elliptical pattern of the DNA Double Helix, which together with the Utopia typography created a red equidistant diagonal patterned text logo with 3D elements.
All of the brand identity materials was developed based on the Utopia typography concept and was reflected in promotional collateral, brochures and overall visual identity.
Nascent also designed the exhibition and in-store stands for CODE; reflecting the distinctive three-dimensional brand identity in real spaces.
For CODE, we also developed a dedicated section on the Calligaris web- and ecommerce site, showcasing the collection with products designed by young designers from all over the world.
It displayed a complete product gallery that allows customers to view information and details about the products, as well as customisation options.
