Gelato d’Italia is a well-established leading manufacturer,co-creator and supplier in the ice-cream industry in Italy. With an artisanal heritage reaching back nearly 70 years and a reputation for innovation both in product development and technology, the core values of a strong belief in high quality products, partnerships and customer service has led them to build a wide international clientele. In 2016 Gelato d’Italia entered a new era of growth with ambitions for further international expansion.
As part of the new strategy Gelato d’Italia wanted to refresh their brand and corporate identity to reflect a more modern and innovative company, while retaining their heritage and core values. They wanted to strengthen their positioning as ‘Your Ice Cream Partner’ in the B2B business.

We began this multifaceted project by creating a completely new logo along with a new tagline, in tandem with a new visual identity, echoing the modern and fresh personality that reflected the brand’s values as well as partnerships.
From the new visual identity and tone of voice of Gelato d’Italia we created a range of communication, digital and video materials that Gelato d’Italia could use consistently across their messaging platforms. We did a complete overhaul of the company brochure using expressive images, a visual index for showcasing category products and an icon system for individual products, along with reenergising the technical information though clear info tables.
Nascent did the art direction for Gelato d’Italia, emphasising the products and a ‘real feel’, using images of real ice creams and from the factories to creating an artisanal feeling with an editorial style.
Continuing the theme of visual impact and evocative images, combining it with functional tools such as tables and the icon system, the development of the product catalogue allowed the team to display the wide range of products that Gelato d’Italia offers in a coherent, modern and effectual way. Playing on this we also created a complete new range of stationary and stationary elements displaying the strong, fresh and recognisable feel of the identity.
The video content was created with the goal of further strengthening the corporate identity, as well as document and enhance the ‘real’ image of the company where it is able to display its processes, skills and extensive knowledge.
Gelato d’Italia and its story are portrayed though a reportage style approach; spontaneous and real. Emphasis is placed on showing production in its various phases, from raw material to final product, in an emotional, yet industrial way.
Bringing all of it together we designed the exhibition stand at the PLMA to present the new brand identity and showcase the products. Creating a contemporary environment by using a mix of materials, lighting and transparencies we presented the new identity to some of the industries biggest players.
To complete the scope we also added a redesigned the website, creating a modern and easily navigated website with immersive experiences through extensive use of videos.
